Player development is still the main focus at this stage with even more touches on the ball.
- Players are encourage to use their creative thinking to solve problems and start to become independent decision makers as well as developing resilience particularly with and without the ball when out numbered.
- Players are required to work as a team, encouraging leadership, communication, teamwork skills and recognize “When, Why and How to play with fast and slow tempo.
- The Academy team are put against some of the best in and outside the Lower Mainland leagues format, meaning youngster gain valuable experience of fun pressure that come with trophy competition while shining a spot light on their talents.
- Empowering players with the skills + techniques of the game enhancing their development to achieve the dream of becoming a must better player.
Emphasis on the four corner model of Player Development Pathway (Technical/Tactical, Physical, Psychological + Social) and the four aspects of the game Attacking, Defending, Transition attack to defence, and transition defence to attack. At this stage, all Fifa Laws of the Game apply. Young players are coached to understand the laws, creates a fun and competitive environment in which players can develop a range of skills on and off the pitch.
